I appreciate this approach. I would go one step further...and suggest Matthew's description of what Jesus was pointing to about love is that, if you don't pull a 1 Corinthians 13 for your enemy, (for never Trumpers on the right, and both liberals and leftists on the left, that is Trump and Trump supporters) you show yourself not to really know the Father at all. In other words...loving your enemy is less an idea, and more of a required path to even walk in your child-of-God status. Thoughts?

Another nit-picky idea, this one on your asterisked postscript: why not follow Jesus, AND listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit, versus marginalized neighbors? Granted, HS can and does speak through many things and people, including marginalized and non-marginalized people in general. However, there are many marginalized people who speak about more than just their experience, and in fact speak of many things they've been influenced to believe that are not true. Listening to these will not necessarily bring you closer to God's heart. While other people--who could easily take on the position or posture of a marginalized person--instead have rejected certain narratives and have found themselves not as marginalized...or not marginalized at all (after all). The Holy Spirit can lead you to support causes, and help various people. But HS can also move you in directions that are contrary to what your sensibilities, political views, or emotional reactions to situations or plights of people can.

Finally, a question: I'm curious what the first action or statement from our current President was from which you started the journey to where you currently are at regarding who you will or will not vote for.

Thanks! I appreciate your approach of prayer as the go-to...
